The Nevada State Democratic Party has picked the U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar as the keynote speaker for the party’s state convention this summer. The convention, which is set for June 11 through June 13, will be the remote one because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Klobuchar previously sought the Democratic nomination and would later endorse presidential candidate Joe Biden after she herself had dropped out of the race.
The senator calls Nevada an important state for Biden’s chances of succeeding in the presidential election.
The State Party is preparing numerous virtual events as part of the June convention, such as digital organizing workshops and a female leadership brunch.
