Chicago Red Stars, a women soccer club from Illinois, is organizing an LGBT+ Pride Party despite the COVID-19 outbreak — and while it might be a virtual event, it still means the world to the fans.

The Red Stars Pride Party takes off tonight, four days before the Pride Month officially begins. The team’s official YouTube channel will be live-streaming performances from the Lyric Opera’s Desiree Hassler and drag star Em Merle starting at 7:30 CT. An Allyship 101 seminar, prepared with the help of Chicago-based non-profit organization Women Unite!, is also in the program.

All viewers are invited to join the mentioned celebrations for free. The party also holds a special offer available for those who purchase a Red Stars Zoom Pride Party pass. This part of the event will be held via Zoom and include Drag Bingo, DJ Sandra Suave’s session, and Kit Kat Lounge Divas Madam X and Shantell DeMarco shows. The guests will also get a Red Stars Pride t-shirt and a pin with their preferred pronoun written on it.

Part of the money raised from ticket sales will go to Howard Brown Health, a medical clinic that primarily provides aid to the LGBTQ+ community of Chicago.
