The Nobel Prize for Literature has been won by an American Woman. Who is an unassuming lady that appears to be quite taken aback with the prize. She has won many prizes before this so should be used to the accolades. There has also been a distinguished line of women who have won this before her. The last American to win this was Bob Dylan. She however is very honoured although enjoys being out of the limelight attending to just making it through with her loved ones. Her position at an Ivy League University is a role she still relishes too, even at  77 years of age.

According to both the judges and her peers, this is a well-deserved recognition of her talents as a poet.  She touchingly stated she would be bereft of friends who are all writers. Then came back to her senses and said no that would just not happen.
