This year has been an extraordinary year in many respects. Not least is the inability of the oxford dictionary to come up with the word for the year. An event that has become entrenched on a yearly basis. This is as a result of the many things that have happened. So many events have kept the English language very busy both in the introduction of new words and their rapid use. From the fires that have been so devastating to the Coronavirus and the many events in between. Have been a plethora of new words to describe the amazing events which we have never encountered previously.  Consequently finding just one that stands out is very difficult indeed. We can conclude therefore that 2020 is not going to have a word of the year.
