Starting May 1st, West Virginia’s Democratic Party will hold county and state conventions online.
It is an important measure since the U.S. is still very much affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and all physical encounters are potentially dangerous. State party chairwoman Belinda Biafore states on April 30th that the Party’s decision to go remote was not taken lightly.
Starting today participants will be able to complete the county convention form. They all must be registered Democrats and pledge to a presidential candidate, according to Belinda Biafore’s statement.
Those who wish to run to be a delegate to the state convention should register until the May 12th deadline.
The filing process for delegates to the national Democratic convention remains the same and ends on May 14th.
